About Me

For those of you who don’t know me personally, Hi - I am Namrata! I created this blog to share my personal experiences traveling the world. On this site you will find stories of my adventures, pictures I have taken, and my curated travel itineraries. But first, a little about me:

 

The love of traveling runs in my family. My grandfather was a diplomat for the Indian embassy and thus lived his life traveling the world with his family. He passed on this love of travel to my dad, whose childhood included growing up in places like Laos, Paris, Adis Abbaba, and more. After moving to the United States my dad continued his dad’s travel legacy by taking his family on a new adventure every year. I remember growing up every summer before our annual vacation, my dad expertly packing our suitcases and my mom scrambling to make us each some Roti rolled with vegetables to eat on the plane (since airplane food was not ideal), once we got older we taught my parents the beauty of airport food. My two sisters and I strategically packed our backpacks to keep us entertained on the flight. We also were lucky enough to spend every winter break vacationing with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins, a group of 14 strong!

As an adult my wanderlust has definitely grown. I am lucky to be married to a man who loves adventure just as much as I do and is always down to book the next trip. So much so that we got engaged in Thailand and married in the Dominican Republic. Together we love to travel multiple times a year! Whether on a short weekend getaway or a multi-week international trip, we try to make every trip unique to us. Everyone that knows me well is always asking me where my next adventure is or how long until I’m headed back to the airport.

In addition to traveling I have always loved photography. Though I am by no means a professional in this regard, I love to capture the beauty I see on every adventure. These two elements are really what inspired me to kick-start this site. This is simply my outlet to share my passion for travel and photography. I hope that my adventures can bring you some inspiration to book that next adventure for yourself too!
